If it’s your dog, then it’s your doody.
Cape Cod is a dogs paradise with endless trails and cool fresh water, but their waste is creating big problems with water clarity.
Why should I take care with my dog?
As responsible pet owners, we need to make sure to pick up after our furry friends. We all love to live outdoors on Cape Cod on beaches, playing in yards, hiking breathtaking trails, but we don't love dancing around dog waste, much less accidently stepping on it!
In 1991, dog waste was labeled a non-point source pollutant by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), placing it in the same category as herbicides and insecticides; oil, grease and toxic chemicals; and acid drainage from abandoned mines.
